This page is about our struggle to provide for ourselves a complete and accurate directory of the owners of Woodsworth Housing Co-operative Incorporated.
I struggled for about four months to create the 2025 Directory. This task could theoretically be completed in just a few days - more realistically about two or three weeks. I submitted my resignation to the Membership after completing the booklet in the spring of 2025.
Below, you can read a bit about the difficulties that I faced during my first stint as Chair of the committee.
When I learned that the position needed to be filled for the 2026 version of the booklet, I volunteered again. I'm currently working on a report about my experiences while trying to gather information for the 2026 Directory.

I used to work in publishing, and I very much enjoyed it. I love data entry, copy writing and editing, and print layout. I think I'm the perfect match for the position of Chair of the Directory Committee.
Overall, working on the 2025 Directory was a very upsetting experience for me. While there are many of us who value our community, and acknowledge how lucky we are, there are many of us who seem averse to sharing in the many riches that we can offer eachother.
Aside from a common disinterest in, or contempt for the process, I also encountered some residents who expressed aggression toward me. As well as some correspondences that I felt were overtly rude, I was once threatened with legal action.
Below, I've put links to Weekly articles that I wrote in order to encourage our Members to participate in our Directory. As well as writing the articles linked below, I also hand delivered individual letters to every household that seemed to be dragging their feet. This was only fruitful in one instance.
After all of my hard work, about 18% of households did not submit a Directory Update Form, and we are completely missing contact info for about 12% of residents.
